The History of the Tiger Tank Page 6.

This poor quality picture may show one of the first Tiger I tanks to be issued for combat. Heavy Panzer Battalion 502 had some Tigers in its first Company on the Leningrad front by August 1942.

The tank is on a rail flat, turret reversed. It appears to have the wide tracks fitted but the leading, outer road wheel missing (maybe laid on the engine deck) - notice the special loading ramp.

Some Tigers were also despatched to Tunisia in November 1942 with 501st Battalion.

This one was photographed, passing the Hotel Majestic in Tunis shortly after landing. It is running on the narrow, transport tracks and lacks the muzzle brake at the outer end of the gun barrel.
