Tank Museum photo No. 5707/F/4

A most unusual photograph from Tunisia.
This Tiger has been so thoroughly destroyed that the suspension has collapsed,
the top half of the superstructure has vanished and the turret turned right over.

Tiger 712 was abandoned by its crew when Axis forces surrendered in Tunisa. It was acquired by Colonel George Burling Jarrett and shipped back to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. This is one of a series of recognition photographs taken at that time.

Tank Museum photo No. 2395/D/2

This photograph was used in an article (shown left) about the Aberdeen Proving Ground Ordnance Research Center which appeared in a wartime issue of YANK magazine.

It shows Tiger 712 being inspected by an NCO.

Someone appears to have tied an ordinary luggage delivery label on the front.
