Looking forwards, over the top of the breech we see the inside of the mantlet with a piece of wood in the co-axial machine-gun aperture. The little numbers, outlined in red, were provided as reminders for the crew during preparation for under water operations. |

While the turret is hoisted by crane in the ABRO workshop the photographer gets in some shots from underneath. Here we are looking up into the turret on the loader's side. You can see the underside of the breech, the elevating gear and the bag that catches empty shell cases. |

And why was the turret up in the air? Because... For the first time in about five years we could see these two major components reunited, at least for a while.
