MORE HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHS! |
||
| No sooner does one set of new photographs turn
up showing Tiger 131 than we get more, two of which are new to us. |

![]() Tank Museum photo number 6214/E/3 |
This view shows
Winston Churchill inspecting the tank in Tunis. He is standing
on top of the turret, in the sun helmet. The civilian on the left, who has removed his hat, is Anthony Eden, British Prime Minister at the time of the 1956 Suez Crisis. First Army shield is displayed on the left-side trackguard and the deep-wading tube. |
|
| The other photo shows the tank
on Horse Guards Parade in London with a mixture of civilians and
military personnel climbing all over it - no wonder there was no paint
left on it! German crosses have been retained on the sides but the shield of British First Army is emblazoned on the front. Notice how dark the colour looks. |
